SkyWatch Towers
The SkyWatch Sentry System is the primary sensor contribution of JATAAYU DAMS to the counter-drone kill chain. It is a network of distributed, ruggedised electro-optical surveillance nodes that create an interlocking, continuous optical coverage web around protected perimeters. Each node operates autonomously at the edge, running AI-powered motion detection and evidence capture firmware without any dependence on the central server or cloud connectivity. The fundamental design insight of SkyWatch is that sensor node density matters more than individual node sophistication. A single high-capability radar with geometric blind spots provides less protection than 100 lower-cost optical nodes with overlapping fields of view. By leveraging the extreme cost-efficiency of COTS ESP32-S3 microcontrollers and OV3660 optics, JATAAYU DAMS can achieve 100x node density per equivalent radar cost — turning the cost asymmetry of drone threats against the attacker.
